Death is often a taboo subject. Discussing our mortality, what matters most, and how to live more intently inspires our lives. This workshop is for anyone who wants to explore, contemplate, and develop a harmonious relationship with death. Dr. Andrea Deerheart will guide you through a personal exploration of your personal myths, fears, philosophies, beliefs, and feelings as they relate to this process of transformation.

This workshop is designed for anyone, including caregivers, friends and family, who is living with a life-threatening illness, terminal illness, and extends to anyone who is interested in developing a more harmonious relationship with dying and death.

This workshop will include:

• Learning how to 'bridge the gap' between life and death

• Experiential process exercises and discussion

• The Practice of Yoga Nidra: Graceful Transitions

• Individual and small group work

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to identify two cultural and three emotional factors through didactic and experiential learning in the training for dealing with clients facing fear & anxiety about dying and death.
  2. Participants will understand how to utilize and apply journal therapy, experiential psychotherapy techniques, and Yoga Nidra Graceful Transitions to decrease fear and anxiety around death and dying, and thereby develop a more harmonious relationship with life & death.
  3. Participants learn how to integrate Yoga Nidra Graceful Transitions in professional environments, medical settings, individual and group therapeutic settings, as well as in the home environment to assist yourself as well as clients in coping with fears and anxiety about death.
